Congratulations! I do hope this email finds you enjoying some sort of deserved rest after what was one amazing experience. I just regret that it has taken me so long to thank you for including me in this years Bristol Biennial.

Helen, I’m including you in this email, although we met each other just very briefly, because you made my great Uncle’s ex-wife, who I too had only met for the first time the day before and appeared to my surprise that Sunday evening, so welcome in an alien environment, enough for her to thoroughly enjoy the performances. She was familiar with The Island, however, having been a solicitor and knowing that building in its previous incarnation.

Well, I’m sat in a cafe in Deptford! The internet isn’t working….in the studio space I’m working in!!!! Yes, I’ve moved to London, on the strength of meeting Bean at Crossing the Line Bootcamp, who about 10 days ago invited me to be artist in residence at Performance Space. Obviously, I cannot quite believe it, but am getting stuck in and am so so SO thankful to be given the autonomy to work and the belief in my potential as an artist practicing performance and live art. The only problem being is that I want to realize everything RIGHT NOW! This being impossible, thank you’s are firstly of paramount importance, for without your initial inclusion in the outstanding programme of events you organised, I wouldn’t be here. Thank you, effectively, you changed my life.

With all very best wishes,

Jonathan Rogerson

Dear Eva,

I just wanted to write to say a massive thank you and congratulations for putting together such a wonderful event.

I’ve been thinking over the past couple of days about the performances I saw, people I met and, of course the fantastic workshop with Jurgen – all in all it was a great experience for me as an artist.

The experience of performing at the Island was brilliant – I felt really well supported by you and everyone and I thought it seemed to go down really well with the audience! I’m truly grateful to have had that opportunity to show my work.

Dearest Eva,

I wanted to thank you for looking after me/us SO well, it truly felt like a home from home where I felt held, safe, justified and connected. It meant a lot to take part and actually ‘feel’ part.

Enjoy the rest of the festival, and I am sure our paths will cross again.

Take care

Dear Eva

I thought I would wait to contact you toward the end of the Biennale, as I know you will have been busy.

I want to thank you both again for the fantastic performance art weekend. It was a fabulous event on many levels and my involvement with Jurgen Fritz’s weekend workshop has been truly life-changing.

So thank you, for making things happen and for the opportunity to participate.

Let’s keep in touch.

All best wishes

Dear Eva

First of all, many thanks for operating the‘ crossing the line‘ performance event and offered me a super inspiring weekend ! it will always be memorable -the time I had with you and with other artists in bristol! Great experiences from the workshop with Jürgen Fritz as well ! I do feel regret that I didn’t take some photo of us or some spend more time with you and the artists after the event finished before I left bristol .. Wish there will be another opportunity to work with you again in the future!

Looking forwards to hear from you.
and Thanks again for looking after me in the past weekend!
